Poison Petitions Pending

Now it's Massachusetts Secretary of State Francis Galvin's turn to be overwhelmed by anti-same-sex marriage petitions. They are arriving from the cities and towns for his office to certify.

Pro-SSM forces expect certification. A comprehensive piece on the developments and options for the pro-SSM folk is here. The short of it is that even with many fraudulent signatures, there will surely be the nearly 66,000 required. GLAD will argue that the commonwealth constitution forbids this effort to overturn a judicial decision. To be argued...to be decided.

Still for giggles and as a reference for legislators who will surely have to revisit such ballot initiatives gone amok, check with KnowThyNeighbor.org to be sure your name is not on a petition that you did not sign.
